A surprise is not a surprise if you tell me it’s going to be one. Then it becomes a frustration.

Opinion on feelings

Allow me to be a little sentimental here but I really think feelings should come with an on/off button; both for the “off” and the “on”!

Opinion on Fish Tacos

Fish Tacos are the ultimate test on a restaurant (that have them on their menu, it goes without saying). If they don’t fry the fish, they immediately gain my respect.

Opinion on cooking steaks

The worst thing a restaurant can do is serve an overcooked steak. Medium-rare means it still juicy and red inside. Per the Wikipedia definition: “warm red center; firmer”.

I’m polite and respectful of the value of food, and will not send the meat back. But I will probably leave a review on Yelp and probably NOT go back to that restaurant.

Opinion on French films in the U.S.

“No wonder why French people have the reputation they do here. Have you seen the French films that were imported in the U.S. lately? Are we just a nation of intellectual weirdo sex-addicts? Why is our representation mostly Jean-Claude Brisseau, Emmanuel Mouret and Catherine Breillat?”

Opinion on Theater

“If you play for a large audience, play for the person sitting in the last row; if you play in an intimate setting, play as you would in front of a camera.”

Opinion on Art

“There is Art for the museum walls and Art for the living-room walls. Some of the things I see in museums should really stay in the living-rooms.”
